About Dr. Lloyd Jaeger
Dr. Jaeger’s prestigious career began with the foundational role of a social studies teacher, culminating in an extensive and varied array of top leadership roles in K-12 systems. His multifaceted experience ranges from suburban and multicultural to urban environments, managing educational ecosystems of deep complexity.
Early Career & Educational Background
- Began as a secondary school social studies teacher.
- Served as a university professor at both undergraduate and graduate levels.
Leadership Roles in Education
- Held multiple leadership positions: Department Chairperson, Assistant Principal for Instruction, Principal, Assistant Superintendent for Instruction, Assistant to the Regional District Superintendent, Deputy Superintendent for Curriculum, and Superintendent of Schools across four different systems and a New York State Board of Cooperative Educational Services (BOCES).
- Led small to large K-12 systems, ranging from 1200 to 12,500 pupils and 175 to 1100 employees.
- Managed a BOCES supporting 13 school districts.

- Presented at regional, state, and national conferences on topics including leadership team development in K-12 schools.
- Focused on strategic planning, data-driven improvement, evaluations, coaching, mentoring, arts-in-education, interdisciplinary instruction, and curriculum development.

- Conducted educational consultant residencies focusing on personnel training and strategic planning with schools and not-for-profit organizations throughout New York City and New York State
- Served on the New York State Board of Regents Professional Standards and Practices Board for eleven years, co-chairing the Higher Education Subcommittee
